World in Conflict awarded "Best Nuclear Explosions in Games"

2009-07-02

International gaming site IGN recently awarded World in Conflict with the number 1 position in their top ten list of ""Best Nuclear Explosions in Games". Their motivation read:

No game lavishes such attention and detail to nuclear explosions than World in Conflict. Sure, these are tactical nukes that we're dealing with, not the bigger, city-killing warheads. However, the execution is so perfect, from the initial blinding flash of light to the angry, billowing, mushrooming cloud rising high into the sky. This is a game where nukes fly back and forth during a single match, resulting in fireworks galore.

The entire article can be found on IGN. A recently released behind the scenes video from the production of World in Conflict explains the how the nuke was made. The behind the scenes movies can be seen here.
